When Renee Van Hoy was in the hospital having lost her vision, she began imagining her own knitting patterns. Now she is a designer and writer whose work focuses on the oft-neglected art of loom knitting. Renee’s line of timeless knit designs proves more is possible with a loom than many of us assume.

Renee has worked to introduce lace, modular construction and other innovations in terms especially written for loom knitters. In addition to her design work, Renee works with designs across the fiber arts to write accessible patterns for the blind and print challenged.

Highly allergic to sheep’s wool, Monique’s work features cotton and less common animal fibers, which can also be adapted to other fibers.
